A new series of mono- and polytopic 4`-arylamino-2,2`:6`,2``-terpyridines has been prepared by the reaction of 4`-chloro-2,2`:6`,2``-terpyridine with arylamines. Representative coordination chemistry of these new ligands is preserted.
