Abstract

The goal of this theoretical subproject is to analyze existing and new
setups of nanomechanical and optomechanical systems and to propose and
investigate ways to generate and measure new quantum states. The
mechanical systems considered include cantilevers, membranes, and also
non-traditional types of oscillators like collective density
excitations of a Bose-Einstein condensate coupled to a cavity
field.
