Abstract |
The application seeks to identify small molecule anti- adhesins for FimH that will antagonize the association of E.coli with cell surface glycoproteins - which is the first steps in the initiation and progression of urinary tract infections (UTI). If successful, this research may yield potentially new therapies for the treatment of UTI, and is thus highly significant. |
