Abstract This chapter gives a summary of the recent findings on electron-mediated scalar couplings across hydrogen bonds. The main emphasis is put on a discussion of the various types and sizes of such couplings which have been detected in biological macromolecules. Various experimental schemes for the detection of H-bond couplings are summarized and possible applications are suggested.
