Abstract The virtual research platform SALSAH (System for Annotation and Linkage of Sources in Arts and Humanities) allows both the production, processing and linking of data and content as well as their presentation in the same environment. Its hierarchically structured data model creates a 'semantic web' of digital objects with their annotations and links. Based at the University of Basel, Switzerland, the Anton Webern Gesamtausgabe uses this approach for a historical-critical edition of the musical oeuvre of Anton Webern in several ways: as a source archive, as documentation database as well as a practical tool for the philological work. The poster presentation is intended to illustrate the structural and methodical design for the integration of a (music) scientific edition in such a virtual research environment.
