The project aims to develop the use of biomass as a renew-able energy source and/or raw material in the Upper Rhine Region (URR). Bringing together scientists from three nations, the network will study all aspects of the biomass value chain to come up with alternative development scenarios, analyse their potential impact in terms of sustainability criteria and to draft guidelines for the sustainable use of biomass.
