Abstract

This project is an 'Indivudual Project' (IP) part of a Collaborative Research Project submitted in the frame of the EuroGENESIS programme from the ESF. This IP aims at studying the mixing of elements in core-collapse supernova explosion and ejecta and its impact on the dust formation process, chemical composition and mass yields. The explosion mechanism, the nucleosynthesis and mixing, and the chemistry have traditionally been investigated separately. New insight can be obtained if mutually connected phases are coupled. Once the interplay between the mixing resulting from the explosion and the dust formation mechanism will be well understood, the IP aims at studying the time evolution and reprocessing of dust in young supernova remnants.

Keywords supernova, dust and molecules, chemical kinetics, astrochemistry, nucleosynthesis, supernova remnant, hydrodynamics, dust, molecules, massive stars
