Abstract |
The great diversity of flowering plants suggests that pollinators play a key role for plant speciation. However, there is still little hard evidence for this process. This project should contribute to solve this paradox, using native carnations (Dianthus spp.) and their butterfly and moth pollinators as model organisms. An additional focus is also the pending pollination crisis and consequences for the conservation of both, threatened carnations as well as their pollinators. |
