Abstract |
Elevated alcohol consumption is a common problem in our society and thus an important issue in HIV-infected individuals. Previous studies have shown that alcohol consumption in HIV-infected individuals was associated with several psychosocial and demographic factors, and non-adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART). However, the effect of alcohol on HIV-surrogates remains unclear, as many studies were performed in small and selected patient groups. We will analyse the association between different levels of alcohol consumption and clinical outcomes, such as viral loads and CD4 cell count. |
