Abstract Distal tibia coronal plane malalignment predisposes to asymmetric ankle joint load. The purpose of this ex vivo study was to quantify the changes of pressure and force transfer in an ankle with a supramalleolar deformity. Two groups were assessed: isolated frontal plane deformity and deformities with an impaired containment of the ankle joint.
