Abstract |
In a prospective study we followed all primary hip arthroplasties operated within one year with standard lateral approach. Then an naterior minimal invasive approach was introduced as new routine without other changes in the operative setup. We hypothesized that there would be no difference in operating time, time loss, need of blood transfusion, intra- and postoperative complications and implant position and orientation. We expected less postoperative pain, less nedd for central analgetics and a facilitated early mobilisation for the patients operated with the minimal invasive surgery technique. |
