Abstract

The cave of Els Trocs is located at about 1500 mamsl on the Selvaplana plateau in the Spanish Pyrenees. It has been under investigation since 2009. Archeological finds (ceramic, lithics, bones of wild and domestic animals etc.) document the use of the cave from the Early Neolithic up to the recent past. The Neolithic strata, dated ca. 5300 to 2900 BCE, contained numerous isolated human skeletal remains. These remains are the topic of archeoanthropological as well as various bioarcheometric analyses.
