The Megalithic tomb of La Mina, located in the plains of Soria in the vicinity of the municipality Alcubilla de las Peñas, is unique among the corridor dolmens on the Iberian peninsula. A first radiocarbon date places the tomb at the beginning of the 4^th millenium BCE.  After the undisturbed communal burial chamber holding about twenty individuals had been sealed, the site was extensively remodelled and turned into a ceremonial site as well as a territorial landmark. The tomb with its changing uses and perceptions and the artifactual, bioarcheological and human remains it contained are  investigated by an international team of researchers from the universities of Basel, Valladolid, Madrid and Adelaide by archeological, anthropological, zooarcheological, archeobotanical as well as stable isotope and ancient DNA analyses.
